Multilayer computed tomography (CT) is a modern diagnostic method that combines ionizing radiation and sophisticated computer technologies. During the procedure around 1000 images are taken, at specific intervals, of the organ under examination. These images are digitally processed to obtain three-dimensional and two-dimensional pictures that can be reconstructed in any plane.
