Breast and Gynecology Days, an online webinar organized by Canon Medical, is taking place from 30 October to 7 November this year. More than 1,000 participants from all over the world have registered for participation in this event.
On 30 October, Medicīnas centrs ARS Radiologist Evija Olmane presented a lecture titled “Advanced MR Imaging in Female Pelvic Oncology: Diagnostic Insights and Clinical Application”. Evija Olmane presented the audience with her experience and insights into cutting-edge screening and imaging diagnostics, sharing practical guidance aimed at improving patient health outcomes. Here’s her reflections on the lecture:
‘In my lecture, I spoke about the importance of MRI in diagnosing various ovarian lesions, differential diagnosis in selecting the most suitable method of treatment, about the role played by MRI in determining the local stage of cervical, endometrial cancers in order to select the most suitable method of treatment, evaluate treatment effectiveness and perform follow-ups after treatment completion. The lecture was designed for radiologists, gynecologists and other specialists examining and treating women with oncological conditions. I shared my insights on the importance of MRI examinations in establishing a precise diagnosis, recommendations for best practices in these examinations, and why it is important in the diagnostics of the disease.’
A lecture was also presented by professor Francesca Moro, exploring the possibilities and importance of ultrasound examinations in diagnosing ovarian lesions and determining the prevalence of ovarian cancer. Many questions were asked and discussed after these presentations.
